Get Involved
There are many ways to give your views, and we want to make it as easy as possible for you to tell us what you think of the proposals. Between 19th January and 29th March, you can:
1. Complete the questionnaire

A consultation questionnaire is available online via the link above, as well as a downloadable PDF version here if you'd prefer to fill it out and return by post via our freepost address. Paper copies are available at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, oncology outpatient departments at local hospitals and at local libraries wherever possible. Please check our website for locations. If you need help to fill in the questionnaire please contact us and we will be happy to arrange some support for you.
For accessibility reasons we have produced a Word version of the questionnaire which can be downloaded here. If you would like to talk to one of the review team about completing the questionnaire, please call 01923 378577.
2. Attend a public meeting
There are different types of events planned during the consultation at different times, different days in different locations - in person and online. These might be in your town or online. You will be asked to register in advance to ensure the events are well managed to provide the best experience for everyone and make sure views are captured.
*The tables below will be updated as events are confirmed.

3. Events and focus groups
We held more than 100 online events and focus groups to help us develop the proposals and will be holding more of these events during the consultation. Some voluntary and community groups will also hold events for people affected.
4. Invite the team to your community or patient group meeting
We’d love to come to talk to groups and organisations to explain our proposals. You will be able to get in touch to arrange a visit.
5. Host a community conversation
We are inviting voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations to help us reach people whose voices are often unheard in formal consultations. We are offering microgrants of £750 to organisations to host one structured community conversation (60–90 minutes) about proposed changes to cancer services.
We have extended the Expression of Interest to Wednesday, 4 March 2026
Conversation window: before 29 March 2026
Report deadline: 2 April 2026
We want to target the following groups in particular, where there are gaps:
Hertfordshire: Cancer support networks; people with learning disabilities; rural community associations
North West London: South Asian and Muslim women’s groups; Men; Mosques, Gurdwara and Hindu Temples – some groups cite faith groups but none in these places of worship; BSL users and sensory impairment;
North Central London: BSL and disability organisations; faith groups; women’s groups; hyper-local groups working on mental health or social isolation.
Luton: Housing and community organisations; diverse ethnic women’s groups; disability and learning disability organisations
Slough: Health Equity and Deprivation Organisations; housing and community organisations; one diverse ethnic women’s group; disability and learning disability organisations
- Bedfordshire, Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire: Traveller community in Buckinghamshire and Central Bedfordshire; Rural & Semi-Rural Communities, older people and carers in rural Bedfordshire; women’s groups.
Why get involved?
- Funding: Receive £750 for your organisation’s time and costs.
- Participant support: We provide £15 thank-you payments for each participant and access to a fund for travel, childcare, or interpretation.
- Full support: We provide a simple discussion guide and reporting template.

6. Individual or organisational responses and submissions
We welcome responses from individuals or organisations. Please make sure they are submitted before the end of the consultation. When you respond to the consultation, please include your reasons for the responses you give. It can include explanations and even share evidence that backs the points you make. That will really help us understand your response.

What happens next?
The proposals that we are describing in this document are just that: proposals. We are asking patients, staff and local people to share their thoughts before we decide what to do.
We want to make sure that when we go ahead, our plans will improve cancer outcomes and experience for patients. We will consider your responses carefully and take them into account when we are making decisions about these proposals.
This consultation document is a summary of our proposals which are described in more detail in our pre-consultation business case which you can read on our consultation website.
The consultation runs from 19th January 2026. The closing date is 29th March 2026.
Your feedback will influence what happens next with Mount Vernon Cancer Centre services. The consultation responses will be analysed by June 2026.
We plan to develop a Decision Making Business Case which reflects the feedback from the consultation, with recommendations which will be reviewed and approved by NHS England and the Integrated Care Boards.
This will include consideration of the implementation plan for the recommended option.

Thank you for your contribution!
