As a part of the Mount Vernon Cancer Services Review, a series of more than 100 online engagement events have been held with patients, families, support groups and stakeholders between October 2020 and January 2022.

These events have identified some key areas of concern for patients and families in the design and location of a new Cancer Centre and how care is delivered. Insights and ideas shared in these sessions are shaping future proposals.

Here are the theme groups that have met over the course of the review thus far:

There has been some uncertainty about the effect changes in cancer services may have on specific areas within the Mount Vernon catchment. Additional work groups from North Central London, Luton, and East Berkshire met allowing individuals living in these areas to find out more about the review and share their experiences to ensure they have an input into the design of future services.

We are currently writing a report summarising what we have heard and learned from these sessions how it has influenced the development of options. The report will be posted here when it is complete. We are also refreshing our engagement and communications plan and will be announcing the next series of engagement events and themes in the coming weeks.
